I was very favourably impressed with the staff and with our room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the impression of very nice people who had also received very good customer-service training. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We liked the clever dual-function door on the bathroom which meant the toilet could be used while someone else was in the bathroom. We ate dinner at the hotel on the first night: worth mentioning that the kitchen shuts at 9 p.m. but we placed our order just before 9 p.m. and were well looked-after. The food - hamburger and chips - was tasty enough and just what we fancied at the end of a long day including about 4 hours' car travel. Although it's on the eastern edge of Exeter, it's opposite the Honiton Park & Ride so convenient for buses into Exeter.

Parking - I gave it best rate only because the staff member at reception helped with the parking details - I did not find it easy to use the monitor (but I am not technically minded/skilled) and he kindly waived the fee. Room - clean and bed very comfortable. Duvet kept me nice and warm. Evening snacks. Although certain dishes were not available due to supply issues, I chose to have leek and potato soup - it was the best - very tasty and full of flavour (so pleased that what would have been my first choice was not available!) Location. Excellent for visiting relatives and friends who live in Exeter and out outskirts too. Very convenient location. Staff - friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. I’m Gluten Free and without asking the staff understood that my bread couldn’t be toasted in the same toaster as bread containing Gluten so she took it to the kitchen to make sure there was no cross contamination. Everything was clearly labelled. We were visiting the university open day and the staff explained the best bus route, they also included free parking for the remainder of the day.

I regularly use the hotel so can't face going over the same things each time! Everything was as I knew it would be and that is always very enjoyable, particularly the quality of the staff. Every one of them is welcoming, friendly, efficient. These are people who look you in the eye and really talk to you. Oh yes, and you can open the windows (even if they are "restricted", to borrow the current jargon.)

Bryan

Excellent location, ideal for visiting Exeter Centre, Powderham Castle, Dawlish, Exmouth, or onward car journeys - N.S.E or W. Comfortable bed and surroundings. Staff were always friendly. The free car parking offered when we arrived was a bonus. Thank you.
